Over 30 of our Members volunteered at the Fresh Kills landfill site. These Officers volunteered on their days off, without compensation to assist in the gruesome task of sifting through the World Trade Center debris. The workers at Fresh Kills identified the remains of over 50 victims. In addition, hundreds of personal effects have been recovered helping the grieving families in the healing process.
